Padma Lakshmi Bio
Padma Parvati Lakshmi (born September 1 1970) was born in Chennai. Her parents divorced at the age two. Her mother moved to the United States to escape the stigma of divorce in India. Lakshmi was a part of her grandparents from Chennai for two years before moving with her mother to the United States. Her parents divorced later, and she now has a younger half brother and half sister from her father. Lakshmi's name is associated with Hindu goddess of wealth, wealth and prosperity. She was born in New York and raised in Los Angeles. Each year she returned to India to visit family members for several more months. Padma Lakshmi first became interested in acting around the time of 1999. Her first movie role was in Figlio di Sandokan (an Italian pirate film).
