21 Savage Bio
21 Savage was born in Newham, England, and was raised on the Eastside Atlanta. He comes from a family of struggle, poverty, crime and violence. The anger and pain are reflected in his music. Starting with the debut mixtape "The Slaughter Tape", 21 has created a sound that is somewhere between Atlanta's Trap or Chicago's Drill. It's a hyper violent and hyper real view of Atlanta. 21 has developed meaningful relationships with the super producers Sonny Digital and Metro Boomin as well as upstart F-12. Sonny Digital collaborated on his follow-up tapecalled 'Free Guwop EP. It was his way to pay homage to East Atlanta's GucciMane. Slaughter King was his third release, and officially put 21 on the radar as an artist to look out for. Not long after its release, Savage was named by XXL a 2016 Freshman. 21 Savage's July 2016 release"Savage Mode," which was a collaboration with Metro Boomin, has seen the artist become a household name. It earned 11.6kplus in total sales during the first week of his debut as an independent artist, ranking at the top of the charts for the entire week, ahead of Schoolboy Q and Logic. "Savage Mode" was at #4 on Apple Music in its third week (not only hip-hop). Momentum for the rapper only gained momentum following "Savage Mode." He then dropped "Issa" and the collaborative song "Without Warning" with Metro Boomin and Offset from the Migos. 21 Savage has a partnership with Epic Records, a label owned by Sony Music Entertainment.
