Anne Burrell
Anne W. Burrell is an American TV chef and an instructor from the Institute of Culinary Education. She hosts her own Food Network show Secrets of a Restaurant Chef and is co-host of Worst Cooks in America. Anne Burrell, a Food Network host with spiky blond wigs and a pumped-up persona, shows how to cook restaurant-style dishes at home, using easy methods. Chef Burrell has worked at New York at top restaurants and studied the Italian culinary tradition and its geography. She also competed as Iron Chef America on Food Network. Burrell, who grew up in New York State's Upstate, discovered a love of cooking. The Culinary Institute of America was where she studied to earn an English degree as well as a communications diploma in Canisius College Buffalo NY. She states "I enjoyed being a Culinary Institute of America (CIA) student. I enjoyed every moment." I was unable to learn enough, didn't accomplish enough, and I couldn't put in the effort enough. After graduating from the Italian Culinary Institute for Foreigners and chef Burrell was able to spend a whole year in Italy studying and working at La Taverna del Lupo restaurant in Umbria and La Bottega del 30 one Michelin star in Tuscany. Her time spent in Italy helped her to understand and appreciate Italian philosophy and culture, and this has left an impression on her food and culinary experience. Burrell is a well-known ambassador to the Juvenile Diabetic Research Foundation. She is a member of the Garden of Dreams Foundation Advisory Board which assists kids who have challenges. as a speaker, guest and mentor she travels across the US to talk about her culinary passion and professional career. Anne in all her experience in the kitchen, has declared that it's an honor to be in a position to share this passion for food with other people.
