Dormer, born 11 February 1982 was an English actress. Her accomplishments
include winning an Empire Award, and receiving nominations for a Critics'
Choice Award and two Gemini Awards and two Screen Actors Guild Awards. Dormer
was born in Reading, Berkshire. She was known as Anne Boleyn, a character she
played on the Showtime series The Tudors (2008), that earned her acclaim. She
made her stage debut with Sweet Nothings (2010). In Madonna's W.E., she played
the role of the Duchess and York. (2011) and Private Lorraine in Captain
America: The First Avenger (2011). The Young Vic praised her performance in
After Miss Julie (2012). Dormer was praised for her performances in the show
After Miss Julie (2012) at the Young Vic. She also played Irene Adler/Moriarty
for CBS's Elementary (2013-15), Sara Price Jess Price (2016, 2017) and Onica in
The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance (2019). Her performance was praised for her
performance in the mini-series Penny Dreadful: City of Angels (2020). Dormer
was born on 11 February 1982 in Reading, Berkshire (England), as the daughter
of Gary Dormer & Claire Richards. She is also the mother of Samantha
Dormer and Mark Dormer.
