Paula Faris
Paula Faris is an American journalist
who formerly worked as an anchor for television at ABC News. She is known for
her time as co-anchor of Good Morning America Weekend from 2014 until 2018 and
also being co-host of The View from 2015 to the year 2018. The show was
co-hosted by her prior co-anchors America This Morning and World News Now.
After graduating, she worked in several communications-related jobs including
an operations position at Mills/James Productions in Columbus, Ohio. She held a
job in sales for radio, because of the limited opportunities for television.
Her next job was an entire year as a production assistant at WKEF/WRGT , and
then occasionally anchor and report. She was the weekend anchor for WCPO TV in
Cincinnati and the anchor for weekdays for WCPO TV in Cincinnati from 2002 to
2005. She was a sports reporter at NBC's Chicago affiliate WMAQ-TV from
November 2005 until December 2011, after her contract was terminated. In
December 2011 she was employed by ABC News, the division for news of ABC. Her
debut on the network was on the 2nd of January, 2012 for ABC's World News Now,
and America This Morning. She was a journalist and substitute for Good Morning
America during this period. In the following years, she was made a New
York-based correspondent on all ABC News programs. She was not able to be able
to make it to the final show of World News Now or America This Morning. It was
on January 22nd, 2013. After Bianna Golodryga quit for Yahoo!, her debut as
co-anchor of Good Morning America Weekend was on August 9, 2014. News. ABC
announced that she would be joining The View as a cohost for season 19. On
August 3 that year it was announced they had renewed her contract until the end
of its 20th season. Season 21 was also renewed along with her co-hosting
duties. She was most often seen on episodes on Fridays from the 21st and 22nd
seasons.
