Renee Kathleen Zellweger

Renee Kathleen Zellweger is a daughter of Kjellfrid Andreassen, a former midwife as well as a nurse from Norway. She was born on April 25 1969 in Katy. Her father, Emil Erich Zellweger, is an engineer born in Switzerland. The couple was married in the year 1963. Drew Zellweger is Renee's brother and was born February 15, 1967. Renee was a part of the drama club in high school, and was fascinated by acting. In Austin she also took an acting class , and began to explore acting as a career. Following graduation, she wanted to continue acting, but Hollywood is a challenging town to break into, and so Renee made the decision to stay in Texas and auditioned for roles around Houston which she was able to grab roles in such films as Reality Bites (1994) and Empire Records (1995). Matthew McConaughey (another Hollywood rising star) was her pal while she was on set of Texas Chainsaw Massacre II: The Next Generation (1994). Renee watched him work on a project that attracted her. She auditioned and got the part in Love and A.45 (1994). It was a success that earned her the critical praise and a decision to move to Los Angeles. Then she was offered a role in The Whole Wide World (1996) and it gave her the first major break. Cameron Crowe was busy with casting Jerry Maguire (1996) which starred Tom Cruise. Crowe was looking at actresses such as Cameron Diaz, Bridget Fonda, Winona Ryder, and Marisa Tomei, until he saw Zellweger's performance in The Whole Wide World (1996). The audition was conducted by Zellweger to be sure he was his Dorothy Boyd. After following her success in a handful of independent movies, Renee felt confident enough for her return to the large-budget Hollywood film industry. Meryl Streep starred with her in One True Thing (1998). Also, she starred with Jim Carrey in Me, Myself & Irene (2000) and began to meet Jim Carrey soon afterward.
