Rashida Jones was born Los Angeles, California to Quincy Jones, a media producer and mogul, and Peggy Lipton, Rashida is the younger sister of actress Peggy Lipton and Quincy Jones. Kidada Jones is her older sibling. Five half-siblings are born through her father's other relationships.
